J: After the Penguins went to bed, we got back into Tiny and after hitting the horn to scare any penguins out from under the RV we set off. It was already 10pm and we had nearly 4 hours to drive. Mel went to bed, I had a double shot coffee, Sam fell asleep on her chair and Yuri kept me company for the drive. We played some random made up games to keep the brain ticking and had a laugh. Then we got to a very dark road, passed a couple walking in the road and the Tom-Tom screen was showing that we were close to driving into the sea so we found a car park, parked next to the no-camping sigh and went to bed.
S: When we woke up we were at Bells Beach that was famous for the "Point Break" film which everyone else had watched apart from me. We watched in awe at how the guys surfed, they truly were skilled at riding the waves. After breakfast we set off down the 'Great Ocean Road,' we stopped at Kenneth River which is renowned for having koalas just sitting in the trees. When we arrived, there was a lot of people surrounding a koala in a tree who was more than happy to be fed. I think he must of been there a while as he was the biggest koala I've ever seen lol. We walked up the road, and saw a few more to add to the list and then we saw an Echidna. It looks just like a larger hedgehog crossing the road just minding his own business. We also managed to see a Koala crossing the road, even though there were a few angry drivers that had stopped behind and a lady trying to get it to safety. We instead of being angry, like the true tourists that we are, we got our cameras out and snapped a few pictures.
J: We were then heading to Otway Fly which is a skywalk in a rainforest, the route was in the Tom-Tom but told me to turn down a road which was signed as "NO caravans or lorries" we had a quick vote and decided being an RV that didn't apply to us, plus we only had 2km to go to the destination. That road very quickly got thin, with blind corners in the rainforest, then it got thinner! I was hitting the horn at the corners hoping if we met anything it would hear us. Then Sam tells me my math was wrong and we had 16km to go! It was pure luck we made it through and only met cars when it was possible to pass, I think everyone held their breath until we got to normal roads again. We arrived at Otway Fly and went on the walk, it was a fantastic walk on a frame work in the tree tops, then it had a view point 100 meters up in the sky which was breath-taking, and amazingly Yuri was up there looking calm, I don't think he has a fear of heights really.
