So we ended up staying here a lot longer than planned, for once the sleeper bus was QUICKER than advertised!! Taking just under 11 hours instead of 12 however this meant we missed our stop as the stop for hoi an was at the side of the road, and we didn't think we could be there already! So we ended up 35km away in danang so yeah, expensive taxi and some breakfast and back to bed because as usual the sleeper bus didn't give us much chance of sleeping! Later we hire bikes for 80p and explore the ancient town and beaches of hoi an, it is such a lovely town with loads of little boutiques and places to get custom made clothes, shoes and other items we stop at a restaurant and get a 3 course western meal for about £6 which is way over our budget but totally worth it! That night we go to a few bars and are surprised to see how quiet they all our, after 3 bars we decide to try one more and then give up and go home which I'm glad we did! It seemed that every backpacker in the whole of hoi an were in one bar called infinity and I couldn't blame them with 30p beers and £1 buckets! We are quickly invited to a game of killer pool and beer pong and get chatting to 2 other couples who are doing similar routes to us.
