So 6 o'clock were up for breakfast and to watch an hour of safety videos about Fraser Island and dingo safety! Why on earth couldn't we have done this yesterday! Then we load the cars up and drive to the barge. When we get there we start to drive to the first lake the journey is horrendous in the back of an 8 seater 4x4 drive on deep bumpy sand we have to duck to stop our heads hitting the ceiling! We eventually get there and lake Mackenzie is beautiful and freshwater we play with a skimming ball in the water for a while which I am awful
At and give up after 10 minutes and go back to what I do best : sunbathing! Then we go to a dingo safe picnic enclosure for lunch and are back in the bang bus for the another bumpy ride! Then we we are dropped at the edge of the woods and are told the lake is a 40 minute walk away which of course we moan about the whole time! When we eventually get there it's worth it as we come out of the trees and can see a vast desert of sand with a steep hill leading to the lake the boys of course (dangerously run straight down and jump in the lake while the rest of us walk down carefully the sand is soo deep that my flip flop gets stuck and I lose it for 20 minutes! The lake is lovely and cool and has hundreds of the little skin eating fish they use in fish spas so we get a free foot spa while we are relaxing in the sun! After the long walk back and another bumpy road we arrive at camp, set up our stuff and start the bbq, the rest of the night is spent with games and drinking and looking at the 1000s of stars where apparently the constilations are upside down not that I had a clue as there's no stars in bromley!
