Today, we woke up at Lili s place, Adri s sister and had a nice breakfast. We then decided to head towards Suchitoto, a lovely pueblo situated about 50 km north of San Salvador. It s surrounded by mountains and it is such a lovely site with a beautiful lake nearby called Lago Atitlan. We went to Lago Atitlan once we arrived in the village. The local micro bus took us to the lake where we ate some local food as we were very hungry. I had a lovely steak with a mixture of local vegetables: aguacate, platanos fritos, salsa de tomates, frijoles y guajada. It was delicious...accompanied of course with some tortilla de maiz. We then came back to the village square of which you can see a picture here, visited the church, local shops and a place where they prepare la masa de maiz to make tortillas de maiz and pupusas. All of it was amazing and very traditional, colourful, magical...I am loving it more and more everyday. After this, we came back to San Salvador and chilled out for a while before going to a defile with dancers in a famous roundabout of San Salvador called El Salvador del Mundo. I was amazed by the amount of colours, the different dances and the lovely atmosphere. Photos will be posted shortly on Facebook, check it out...!
