Hiya

Good flight - miles of ice, snow and glaciers slowly turning a little green and then, from nowhere, you could see Calgary.

The fire service were at Calgary Airport with a really fancy fire truck - I've got pictures Dad. We collected a Ford escape 4x4 - only 2000 miles on the clock - leather seats and all the works... Andy's in his element - the irish lad who helped us with the car is out here for the summer whilst studying at Dublin University (they're all at it!)

The drive up to Banff was interesting - past the McMahon Stadium in Calgary - past the olympic village and you could see the ski jumps where Eddy the Eagle did his stuff.

Spectacular scenery when we got near Banff and our room is lovely - we just looked out onto the street and saw a deer - or perhaps it was a young elk?

Its after midnight our time, but only 6.30pm here so we're off for a walk to try and stay awake for a bit longer. I'll attempt pictures when I can focus a little better.
