After spending 15 hours travelling across the sea (and 3 hours in the fairy beforehand ) we arrived at Athens yesterday evening. So we are now in a country where we can no drink the water and CAN'T flush the toilet paper down the toilet. That is correct. You heard it from me. Athens came across as quite clean and newish. It doesn't come across as an old city. Not a lot going on there however the views and countryside on the way to Athens was gorgeous. Beautiful blue ocean.
Our first experience in Greece was awesome food last night. For starters we had all sorts of bite size portions of delicious and strange things as well as awesome tasting tomato and tzakiki. And there was only 3 courses. Not starter, double pasta, mains and desert like in Italy. We had to much food in Italy.
After going to the Acropolis this morning we are now on a 5 hour fairy to Mykonos. Only 16 out of 50. The rest got up at 6 o'clock to go on the cruise while we slept in. Arrival in Mykonos should be 5pm. Initially we were on a later fairy getting in at 8 so we are glad it's earlier. More mykonos. Our other fairy was cancelled. Sadly out bus drive Enzo had to be left behind and I catching a later fairy.
Apparently these disruptions in service are common place around here. Especially in Greece. I'm possibly getting sick after 3 weeks on the go. Or it's hayfever. We aren't sure yet. But 4 days on Mykonos to recoup.
Ankle is swollen, and now the top of my other foot is sore and scrapes internally as weird as that sounds. But lots more to see and do.
We've had awesome weather throughout our trip so far. It rained all last week in Mykonos but out temp tour guide Kate said we are meant to get a few awesome low 20's days which should be great.
After Greece I don't think we'll mind it cooling down and putting some warmer stuff back on through Austria and Switzerland as we need to start getting accustomed to cooler weather seeings as it's raining at home.
And there was no earthquake in Rome while we were there seeings as that was meant to occur.
