Well what a week it has been! Since we last blogged we have flow from koh samui to bangkok, bangkok to sydney and driven nearly 1000km to byron bay and we have been loving every minute!
We arrived in bangkok knowing we were never going to like it and got a taxi! Mr john the taxi driver was amazing he sang elvis to us but he scared us whdn he said we were staying on the street behind the protesters snd that if he ssid run we would have to jumped out tge car snd run with him! We arrived at the hotel to find the army positioned outside with guns! Lovely! Our hotel was nice and we spent the rest of the afternoon in starbucks! We went to the night marlet for dinner anc enjoyed the football! We headed back to mbk the next day and spent a fair few hours shopping before heading back to the night market for dinner then home to pack! The next day after we checked out we had a few hours to kill beford getting a taxi so wd grabbed some lunch then both got to have chats to our mummys on the phone! Shortly after a enourmous thunderstorm began and we had to get our taxi to the airport in this! We have never heard thunder like it! We were very glad to get to the airport and enjoyed a much needed burger king before getting the plane!
The plane journey was 9 hours so we planned to get dome sleep to enabld us to b a bit less tiered for the 6am arrivel in sydney! Well we made the crucial mistake of drinking the complimentry coffee and 9 hours and 4 films later (including dear john) we were landing with no sleep!
We were so excited and headed to our transfer which we had to wait for for ages then began the journey through sgdney to our hostel. We were plesently suprised with the room and settled down for somd sleep! We got a good 6 hours in and woke up ready to see the sights! First stop darling harbour just for kathryn where we enjoyed a glass of red! We also went through china town and to tge paddys market before grabbing somd dinner and heading to bed! We let ourself lie in in the morning then headed to the harbour bridge and opera house! We loved it! We grabbed a picnic and sat in the park admirring the view! Wow! We had a wonder round took lots oc photos and had a gelati ice cream before boarding our cocktail harbour cruise! This was fantastic and we watched the sun set over the harbour bridge!
We picked up our camper the next morning and nerviously began our journey! We went shopping for the essentials ( pasta and cheese) before getting lost and driving around bondi junction about 10 times! We ended up findinv a campsite in brighton le sands and parking up there for the night! Well were most excited about our pasta and cheese and to our dismay we couldnt get our stove to work! A german lad appeared offering his services which we were very please about until in his attempt to fix the problem he managed to set himself on fire! Burnt arm hair is not a good smell! So we ended up cooking in the dirty communal kitchen and eating dinner with the germans!
The next day we went to bondi beach before heading to a campsite on the outskirts of sydney! Well the campsite we went to first had a load of hill billys living there so we were very please when we were told we couldnt park there! We ended up in mona vale on a really nice campsite and got chatting to a bloke abd his wife from melbourne who we got very drunk on wine with! Fun times!
We began a long journey the next morning and drove about 550km and ended in a place called coffs harbour! Seemed like there would b a lot going on but we were very wrong! We headed to the centre where we found 4 resturants 1 that didnt sell alcohol and 3 that you had to have a meal to have a drink anc ended in thd local pub! The night ended up to b quite fun we got chatting to 2 local lads one who had never met anyone english and spent the night drinking with them!
Today we drove to byron bay and we love it! Lots of campers lots of people abd bars and right next to the beach! Perfect!
