Hong Kong
Hong Kong was fab! We did loads! Every night at 8 there is a symphony of lights on the water front of Hong Kong island. It's best watched from the Kowloon side (which is where we were staying). Hong Kong island is much nicer than Kowloon but more expensive, it's the main business district. It's definitely worth a visit. There are really nice botanical gardens with loads of animals. The peak is also there. It is the main tourist attraction and the views from the top are incredible. I took loads of photos from up there, loads of skyscrapers, its amazing! It was pretty cloudy so that's why the photos aren't the best. We spent at lot of time just wandering, taking in the culture, exploring markets and trying the food - which I didn't like very much! It was Chinese new year while we were there and a big parade took place around Kowloon. It was interesting but it was a lot of time standing, saving your place in the crowds of people. We also experienced the nightlife, Hong Kong style. It was a brilliant night. In one bar people were dancing on the bar - a bit difficult to get served hehe! Also it was a bit pricey for the backpacker budget (fiver for a single vokda lemonade).
So...that's pretty much it from Hong Kong. Next stop Australia!!
