Day 202 Well, Thailand is just a joy. Loved India, loved Nepal - but Thailand is just so civilised and organised. There is an actual infrastructure. People are amazingly friendly and the food is divine. Gan Gan arrived and we whisked her off to Hua Hin, the glamorous seaside retreat where the King winters in his other Palace. Day 201 Arrived in Bangkok! And it is not at ALL like I remember it. Not a ping pong ball in sight (yet). Beautiful wide tree-lined clean streets, pavement cafes, organised traffic - it looks like Paris. There is no litter on the streets and some of the motorcyclists even wear helmets! Day 200 Finally out of Nepal and back in my favourite country of all time, India. Dirty roads, traffic, noise, packed streets, no pavements, dead animals and roads so full of litter it looks like someone has emptied a skip every 10 yards - it feels like home! Day 193 - 199 We celebrated the end of 2010 with Fern getting bitten by a stray dog while out walking with Daddy. Six months of adventerous travel and not a scratch, and the minute he arrives she is mauled nearly to death. So an urgent trip to hospital ensued where we shelled out a fortune on anti-rabies vaccinations, bandages, antibiotics and painkillers. She was very brave, I was very stressed.
