Hey all. As you know I'm in la la land, which if you know me you know I'm obsessed with all things celebrity so this is the place for me. Any sight of anything remotely famous I'm captivated out here. Everyone looks so famous though so it's hard to actually spot a celeb.
So if I rewind a couple of days it takes me back to my second day here. In the morning I walked to Hollywood boulevard to just soak in the area at a slower pace and walk past the majority of the 2,500 something Hollywood stars. I'm not sure how I spent about 4 hours on this but I dragged the day out as I was waiting on Kathy (friend from the tour) to arrive at my hostel. I went back to meet her and that evening we befriended some others and had free BBQ at the hostel (amazing- that's very unheard of) and watched the film I Am Legend before hitting the pillow for a busy next day.
Now we are at yesterday...
We woke up to get free breakfast (I know, this hostels too good to be true) and we joined the hostels 'LA Celebrity Tour'. It was a 6 hour bus tour of all things LA. Where do I start?! We first headed to the boulevard for some quick pics before going to Beverley Hills and Bel Air to view celebrity houses; including Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson, Jennifer Aniston and so many more I can't even begin to list them. We also saw the fresh prince house. If I'm honest, when I say 'house' I really mean gate/15ft wall!! Plus our tour guide was a character and a half so probably made up the residents of the houses! It seems he has contact with every A lister in Hollywood- hmm sure- that's why you're a tour guide!? After the house stops we drove through sunset strip where all the celebs hang out but we unfortunately didn't spot any :(. We carried on to Venice beach where we had free time to check out the place. Muscle beach was our first (and only) stop. We drove on the beginning of Route 66 and saw the remainder of the Venice canals. We drove to Rodeo Drive where we saw the hotel from pretty women and we walked the street which must be the most expensive place per square foot in the world. All designer shops on top of each other- so crazy! Next stop was Mulholland Drive which is in the Hollywood hills. This was our chance to grab a good, close snap of the Hollywood sign and the extraordinary views of Los Angeles.
We had a quick cocktail to round off the day before heading to another hostel for free BBQ, free beer and a comedy show! This hostel is getting 5/5! A big group of us headed there and it was a nice evening, made even better for being free! The comedy show was actually quite good for a free gig. We all then headed out for an after show party, but it turns out Hollywood isn't as crazy as Vegas so the night ended earlier than expected.
Today then was another brilliant day. Well it started off sad as I said my goodbyes to Kathy so that's the last of my tour gone. But myself and 3 others who I've made friends with from the hostel went to watch a recording of Dr.Phil. It's like a Jeremy Kyle type of show but apparently he's pretty big out here as Oprah gave him his break. That was fascinating to see how a tv show was produced and the story was quite depressing and emotional, however very over dramatised!!
We then went to Madame Tussaud's where I finally got my chance to meet all the celebs ;). And now you'll never guess where I am......?
At a Lakers basketball game!! They're about to play the Utah jazz and the atmosphere is buzzing! So glad i can say I've watched a Lakers match.
So that's my last few days wrapped up in a quick blog. I've done more but this would be like a dissertation if I went into every detail and i vowed to myself I'd never write one of them again haha.
How are you all?? Thinking of all my family and friends constantly and can't wait to be reunited with you. Drop me a message to update me on what you're upto. I'd LOVE to hear it!
Lots of love, Katie xxxxxxxx

Rachel Well what a fantastic blog, I'm sure you fitted in 'so totally' with all the Hollywood beauty's. Seems like a gold star hostel, and all your freebies, your mum will be proud. Sunset Strip and Venice Beach beautiful places with beautiful people. Rodeo Drive Baby, 'work it work it' love Dr Phil watch him when doing the ironing sometimes, do you know the date when it will be shown? Probably takes a year to get over here! And to end the day at a Lakers game how so American, we are all good here, lots of rain and big thunder storm again yesterday evening. Keep mixing with rich and famous Katie, you never know when you may be spotted by a talent scout or a top Hollywood actor may be looking for a lush looking English Rose for a girlfriend x lots of love x
