Been in Australia for a couple of days now - left Bali late Thursday night and cried my eyes out when I did, met some lovely people over there and it was sad to say goodbye. Got to the airport and Charlotte never turned up for the flight, not sure what happened there?! Anyway, quite a long flight, Bali to Darwin, Darwin to Gove, Gove to Cairns. Met a lovely couple called Anna and Liam from St Albans on the flight and have spent a lot of time with them since. Hostel isn't bad, in a room which is like an apartment. Sharing with two french girls, Geraldine and Aline and a mad American guy called Johnny - so far, I have out drank them and stayed out til the wee small hours, so Johnny seems to think I'm some Rock Chick - little does he know! Cairns is very hot, 26 degrees and it's Winter! First night ended up in an Irish bar and met some guys in the Navy, got pissed on Snakebite as it's quite cheap here. There's a lagoon here instead of using the beach as it's crap, spent most of the day down there sunbathing and listening to a band and watching Hippies dancing! Last night Anna, Liam and I bought a box of nice red wine for 13 bucks (5 quid) and got wasted! So cheap! Am quite hungover today and am off the meet the guys soon to get some food from Woolworths (the supermarket over here) and chill by the lagoon. Going to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree in the next week or so, Anna and Liam are buying a car so we're going to head up there together. Must go, the lagoon is calling! x x x x
