We are now in penang. Back to the heat and busy streets.
We spent 2 nights in cameron highlands in fathers guest house, which was the most expensive accomodation yet RM80 a night!! was nice though. We were very high up so it was a lot cooler especially un the evenings, i had to put my jumper on for the first time! The food in this place was very nice, had sweet and sour chicken and stir fried chicken which alex preffered to his burger!
Wewent for a walk on saturday which was very steep and as its so high you get out of breath alot quicker but the view was pretty spectacular. only took about 2 hours which want bad. in the afternoon we did a countyside tour which lasted 5 hours leaving at 2. we visited a rose garden, the tea plantations, butterfly park, bee farm, a temple and a 'pluck you own' strawberry farm where we hadf the nicest milkshake!
The tour was good and we got to see a bit more of the countryside but the plantations was the best bit, got to go around the small factory seeing the different stages of tea making!
we left there this morning in the cold at 8am. the journey was 4 1/2 hours and cold!
we are now in love lane inn in chinatown of penang. its run by a very helpful woman who has already sorted our ferry tickets for wednesday to get to langkawi. we have got 3 nights here at RM25 a night. (3 noights here cheaper than 1 in cameron highlands!)
off to find tea xxx
