Day one:
I'm finally here! After a small panic attack, a change of mind at the airport, and a quick stop in Dubai I have arrived safe and sound in Bangkok. First impressions are good, its lively, full of friendly locals and travellers and most importantly HOT! We landed into 32 degrees at 7pm. So we got to the hotel... Its nice, simple funishings and most of all clean, not a cockroach in sight. Due to waiting an hour at least at passport control to get a visa sorted I'm ready to pass out, so its a quick trip out to grab some street food and rehydrate. I'm being a vegetarian this trip so I opted for simple rice and vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce, plus a big bottle of Chang beer, a grand total of 80p. Brilliant. As I pick at the last remaining grains of rice on my plate I get the shock of my life as out of nowhere a pesky little lizard plunges itself onto my ankle, I could feel its little sucky hands grabbing on. I obviously scream, bash my legs under the table sending things flying and everyone looks at me. For the next five minutes im a nervous wreck searching for the little lizards location. After paying up all I can think of is bed and we slowly make our way back to the hotel. All around Bangkoks Koh San area there is lots of little street massuse chairs lined up full of tourists deep in relaxation. Well at £2 for a half an hour back, neck and shoulder massage it would be rude not to. It takes little persuasion by the group of Thai boys to get me in the chair and im slowly being ground, pulled and twisted in all sorts of crazy positions. Some random tourist came over and took a picture of me as I sat there with my arms tied above my head with the massuse digging his knees into my back. I turn over and glace at Tom, hes in deep sleep, loving his massage which is being carried out by a male, so no happy endings! I can honestly say it was the best £2 I have ever spent and I will be paying them a visit tomorrow morning no doubt. Its now quarter to 1am, I should need sleep seeing as I havent been to bed since Tuesday evening and its now Friday morning... jet lag is kicking in and I'm wide awake for some pequliar reason. On the plane I watched two disney films, one of which was the classic Robin Hood to remind me of home. So on that note, OO DA LALLY OO DA LALLY!
