A private bus picked us up from Pai and we take the winding road back down south towards Chiang Khong; our border crossing town to Laos. We arrive at 3am, our hotel came included in the price of the bus ticket so we wasnt expecting much. It was a good job, we arrived to a mattress with stains on and a bin with two dirty plasters inside. We thought we made our own way to the border in the morning but oh no, at 7.30 after around 4 hours sleep theres a knock on the door "Bus leave in 5 minutes" its a mad rush and we are the last on the bus. We arrive at the border crossing before it even opens which is a good thing, within half an hour the queue is huge. We take a small boat across the Mekon River and Voila we're in Laos!
