So we left NZ early on the 9th ready for our 10hr flight back to Singapore, where we had a connecting flight to KL which was only an hour so not to bad.
On arrival to KL we jumped in a taxi to our hostel, we didn't arrive there until 23:00 but it was still buzzing, the reggae mansion aka the party hostel.
So we checked in and headed straight up to the roof top bar/club waheeey, and yeah about 3hrs and a few cocktails later we went to the room and crashed out. I think!!!
We met some decent travellers up there who were giving us good pointers about our onward destinations which was helpful.
The next day once we finally got out of bed we headed into the city for a walk round, baring in mind it was only a stop over so only had that day to have a look round. We went to have a look at the sky tower which is about 300m high the views of the city were amazing from up there, so we booked a table for dinner It was very posh the whole restaurant rotates 360* giving you a view of the whole city while you eating. The time we were up there it only rotated once so it was slow you hardly knew you were moving so it was nice.
Once we finished our meal we had a walk round the city at night, everything was lit up it was pretty cool. We went to look at the twin towers, they looked good from photos I had see previously but in real life they really are the bollox. Everyone's so friendly here, we got talking to a barmaid in a pub earlier who was from the phillipines and as we were off there the day after she gave us some good pointers.
So this morning we was up early to catch our flight to the phillipines 4hr flight which went ok, other than on check in they told us we had to have a onward or return flight otherwise they wouldn't let us in. So we booked our onward flight to Tokyo Japan 01/04/16 giving us just under 2months in the phillipines.
We arrived in Cebu City phillipines around 3pm this afternoon and have to say we both especially Kate got a real culture shock, the closest I have come to this was Sri Lanka the city was soo busy and proper 3rd world it was mental. We didn't see any other tourists as we were walking around, we stood out like a soar thumb lol. The look on Kate's face was a picture, I could tell she was thinking what the hell are we doing here!!! But it's a city and a third world one. Good job we only here for two nights the heading out to the beach so it should be nice.
We have booked a tour for tomorrow morning to an island called Bohol to see the tarsier monkeys they have there, they are tiny monkeys with huge eyes and see the chocolate hills
So we are up early again tomorrow we have our pick up at 5:30 but should be worth it.
