we saw harry potter. we also saw the simpsons. clearly english speaking cinemas are a favourite throughout our trip. both awesome movies.
we did actually see the city outside the cinema though, and it is one of the few liveable cities we've seen. it feels like melbourne just with prettier buildings and more gardens. we caught trams.
we checked out traditional viennese cafes - like the places where freud ate and trotsky and lenin would meet to play chess. we had strudel time ( a replacement for gelati time).
we found lots of palaces. some we admired from the outside, but we made a trip out to see the Schloss Schonbrunn which had some nice gardens, and amazing views of the city. we were most excited to see that some of the rooms reflected the way the imperial hapsburgs lived (rather than a random converted museum - like the freud museum - oh look we're in his consulting room and it's a completely modernised empty room - where is the couch!!!???). kate has decided that when she has palace this will be her palace although she'd add some swimming pools and free icecream and strudel.
we didn't see inspector rex, or moser. infact it seems as though we didn't do a great deal. we wandered and admired, and this is one of our preferred cities.
