pretty picture. of course when we took our picture we were forced/submitted willingly at the promise of cheap wine into walking up stupid giant hills in buda so that we could see the pretty lights. not an easy slog. and the wine was bad.
we arrived in Budapest during a government declared State of Emergency which meant that the heat was going to be above 35 degrees - in actual fact it was 42 degrees. which we didn't quite notice except for the fact that we could wring out our shirts and shorts when we stupidly decided to walk from the station instead of catch the bus. we spent most of our time at the hostel making new friends (or reading Harry Potter - or making new friends over harry potter discussions). we spent our days hanging out at the hangarian thermal baths with our new friends, we had a g-string tally and spent a great deal of time speedo watching-commentating. crazy-melissa-would-you-rather-pickles-girl (not me melissa - clearly) taught us how to play Would You Rather...? Dream Boy... and Take It or Leave It....? fab fun games that reveal a little too much about your personality.
we ate duck. twice a day. we call this double ducking. we actually ate quite well and had really good cocktails for lunch in the sun. then we calculated one evening that the wine were drinking with our dinner (good wine this time) only cost 40 cents a glass. we were happy.
we finished of one of our nights in some pretty awesome beer gardens. and although we didn't see a whole lot of the city, budapest was fantastic!
