My main aim today was to find a fountain with a snail statue in it. I did find it eventually after walking an hour in the wrong direction as these bloody grid systems all look the same. The fountain was empty but have twelve Kazakh signs of the zodiac like a chicken, snail, little mouse and pig. I’ve had to put the photos in the photo section as can’t get used to this new blog.
After the fountain I wondered around a park full of Russian war memorials and Russian music blaring out from behind trees. I then went to a Bazaar where I got lost as well, but managed to find a shop selling just eggs and one selling pickled cabbage. I didn’t buy anything as I passed the Chinese tack going in and then couldn’t find it again. They had some nice plastic buckets though.
Last on the list was the national theatre to see Swan Lake. I have no idea what was going on but the costumes were amazing and it gave my feet a rest. I will need to google the story line but I at least know now that they won’t speak so don’t expect them to.
I meet the group tomorrow! Fingers crossed.....

Di Hmmm ... snail fountain sounds worth the effort
Di My comments are not getting through completely ... just the first line gets sent? I also said ... they must love pickled cabbage omelette ... the Ballet sounds as interesting as we predicted ... and the group tomorrow will be whooping away in their geriatric scooters
