Not too sure what to write about this place - we are in a guesthouse, the only guests with hummingbirds everywhere and a private chef. We had a ‘ Tasting Menu’ last night which was 5 courses of normal portioned food rather than the usual snail soup in thimbles or some revolting pretentious yuk. The only slightly wierd thing was when Ween had a chicken breast course, I got a soya burger which was a bit challenging. There are definitely too many bugs here which are all dive bombing me and the Chinese lanterns overhead have dropped hot wax all over me plus burst into flames and landed on the next table.
The house is in the middle of nowhere and yesterday we went for a walk around the property which is on a cocoa plantation, to be taken into a bamboo forest where they had set a picnic up for us. I am sitting here at the moment, covered in bees which isn’t too nice as they’re very tickly. We’ve also been back to the palm tree valley and Salento which are now full of backpackers and tacky kiosks. It’s changed a lot in 3 years - I wouldn’t have overheard a conversation between old Americans on which their favourite burger place was for a start.
We are off to Medellin today, home of Narcos and Pablo and the Christmas Lights!
