Today had a mixed everything, from luxury to skyscrapers to haggling in the markets. We started off in the Dubai mall (again). The mall is connected to the Burj Khalifa which we had a 10.30 booking for. The tallest building in the world at 823 m high. Takes 1min 45 seconds to go from the ground floor to the 124 floor! FAST! But you don't feel the speed. The engineering lifts have NOTHING on this lift haha. It was a really clear day so we were able to see for miles! Saw the world islands and the palm and also saw into the desert. It was great to be at such a height to truly see all the differences in areas: landscaped areas, sky scrapers and desert.
Spent nearly two hours up there (time flew!). The afternoon was spent in the spice and gold souks. True haggling here and I'd say that made the experience. It was hilarious walking round stalls selling Viagra, and one was even called the "Rise Store", ironic font you think?
We were truly exhausted by now however made a quick by pass through the Dubai museum. It was interesting to see the short history of the area (41 years old). It's certainly come a long way!
