First day in Bali today. We meet everyone for breakfast at 9:00am which was a buffet and a la carte style place which was quite nice. We had a fair bit to eat and then got ready to go to our massages at 10:00am that Kerrie had booked in for us.
Part of the holiday package includes three 1 hour spa treatments each. Shannon and I had a couple room and we were given a sarong and disposable undies each to put on. They gave us a bit of a foot wash and scrub first before we hopped on the tables. We had a one hour Balinese style massage after that which was very nice and also painful at times as is the way of massages.
We left the room very oily and relaxed and then stopped in at the games room afterwards for a darts challenge that Shannon won quite convincingly.
We strolled around the resort for a bit before it started to rain quite heavily and the rain started to mix with the massage oils which didn't feel too pleasant. So we went back to the room to shower off.
After that we went down to the pizza bar to have lunch and claim some of our included meals. The pizza was tasty and we also had an entree as part of the meals included so I had a feta cheese salad and Shan had some bruschetta that were both delicious.
After lunch we grabbed a towel and went for a swim in the ocean to cool down. The ocean was warm, salty and full of seaweed and it felt good to cool down.
After our swim we sat with dad, Kerrie, Britt and Nathan whilst they ate lunch and then also chatted with Alison and Michael at the bar. We had a Bali Cider each which was pretty good and then went back to the room at around 3:30pm to shower again.
We were both quite tired at this point, maybe because of the massage and the long travel day yesterday so we had an hour and a half nap. When the alarm went off at 5pm we slowly dragged ourselves out of bed and got ready to go down to the included happy hour.
We joined everyone in the private club area and had a few drinks each until the end of the happy hour at 7:00pm.
Everyone wanted pizza for dinner and Shannon was very happy to be able to eat two pizzas in one day. He even ordered the exact same pizza. We sat around eating and chatting with everyone until 9:00pm and then signed off on the bill before heading to bed.
A pretty good first day in Bali.
