Hi mum and dad its frightening you might be the other side of the world but your influences are vibrating through I've been up since 3am oh how lovely done the ironing dusting and swept the floors, thought you might find this amusing off to M&S and Sainsbury this morning to finish off the food shopping. Sent a letter off to explain about the missing form will let you know when I get a reply.I'm off to get in the shower, might need to resort to a mask when I go out looking a bit TIRED.Lots of love Debraxx

Hello Kathleen and George !
I work with your sister Susan and she said I should email you and give you a few ideas on places of interest to see in Cape Town.
I'm green with envy ...a world trip that's my dream ......wish I was going back to South Africa for a holiday. We emmigrated to the UK three years ago from Durban and I must say of all the places I miss ....it's Cape Town.
Table Mountain itself is absolutely splendid ! On certain days the clouds build up on the other side and roll over the top....looks just like a tablecloth. You must go up the cable car....at one point as you get nearer to the top you come (it feels) so close to the actual mountain you can stretch out your hand and touch it. The view is breathtaking and look out for the "Dassies" (the rock rabbits).
There are plenty of markets where you can buy lovely souvenires .
Go to the Victoria and Albert waterfront in the harbour .....lovely shops ...see the huge seals......just lopping around waiting to be admired.
You can take a boat trip out to Robbin Island ( the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated) and see seal island as well.
Take a car trip to Hout Bay and look out for a wonderful place called "Snoekies"...its actually a fish market where the fishing trawlers tie up alongside and you can buy fresh fish and chips....... oooohhhhhh greasy and yummy- dont take Aggie with you !!!!!.
Knysna is another wonderful place..... take a trip on the ferry out to the mouth of the lagoon on a ship that has three legs. The boat actually stops and the legs hydraulically lift the boat out of the water.
Drive to Hermanus and perhaps you'll see the Whales in the bay..hurling their huge tails out of the water and blowing water in great spouts... its a magnificent sight.
The Tsitsikama forest hosts a family of elephants which you are able to actually stroke and feed ..with the help of the guide of course !
Take a trip of the wine route...pop in to numerous vineyards and sample all their delicious wines....but take care at the end of the wine tasting you might not remember your name, age or date of birth !!! Ha Ha !!!!

I'M BAAAAACK! Been so very busy - haven't had a chance to post any messages. Photo's are great! Yes you're correct Kathleen its my birthday today and I'm 51 !!! NOT ****ing 52 !!! KILL AGGIE, KILL AGGIE!!!! Thanks for the luvverly card (postmarked Essex - you're not lying to us are you???). Stephen is taking me to see Rat Pack this evening, really looking forward to it. Its bloody frrrrreezing here! Had our family Xmas lunch on Sunday it was great - All the kids and grandchildren - oh we had fun, fun, fun! didn't go to bed until 3:30. The house looked like it had been hit by a scud missile - just like yours when we last left it. But well worth it. Off to France for 5 days on Xmas eve, just the two of us, log fires, chesnuts and lots of champagne! Whoopeee... and then when we get back will book somewhere hot for a week - Well K&G probably won't have time to get back online until the new year - so will wish you (and all you other message putters) a Very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year. Keep on keeping on. Love and miss you both xxxxxxxxxxxxx the computer says no............
Cheryl ( B****)
Hi fellow b**** - did you miss China ? At least it appears you really are away this time so I'll excuse the lack of an Xmas card and present ( but I can wait) . Still reading through these messages and am aching at times; the photos are amazing - did you really take them? Our condolences to George who by now must be deaf, and who will be awarded a medal for his services to the Benfleet community for ensuring they have a peaceful Xmas.
We needed to join the list of real friends staying in touch because you seem to have exhausted the list of imaginary ones ..........
Continue having a great time ...for as long as possible ......merry, merry Xmas from Cheryl & Mike
PS No recordings of the tour will be necessary , even tho' we may avoid/miss you for months after youreturn as I do not want to be bored with your endless ramblings of your trip.
PSS Luv & XXXXXX
