Just when we thought the driving couldn't get any worse in Asia - we arrive in Vietnam where the roads are like wacky races and everyone has horn tourettes.
Vietnam is honestly the first country that I've been to that has disappointed me. The people are generally rude and treat all foreigners like walking ATMs. I got into several arguments with taxi drivers, hotel managers and street vendors becasue, no, we don't want a ride, a day trip or a bloody banana!
Despite the disappointment, we did have some good times. A two day boat trip on a chinese junk was well worth it. Also the war museum was really poignent and saddening. They really do not hold back there and show the atrocities in full.
Also, the clothes here were brilliant. I got a silk dressing gown, and a made-to-measure dress and skirt - all for 20 quid.
The madness on the roads is also quite amusing - they have an incredible talent for balancing 4 people, several haybales and a pig, all on one moped.
Maybe we were unlucky with Vietnam, however, our feelings have been echoed by several other travellers we have met. So off to Cambodia next, which I hope will be better...!
