Well no-one was ill on the crossing (definition of ill is being ill, not feeling ill). We got on our bus and hotfooted it over to our hostel which had a 12m swimming pool and hot tub. I will not be smug on this occasion as the weather was not good enough to use either!
I feel I must just tell you quickly about the bus - it is called the Magic bus and they pick you up from your hostel, take you to the next one and book your accomodation and activities in between. Perfect.
So Nelson is the gateway to one of the national parks, Abel Tasmin. We went over and as luck would have it, the weather turned. It was glorious. So we spent the morning kayaking on the sea. The sea was crystal clear and so calm. We then made our way over to a deserted beach for tea and cookies and back again to start the 11.5km trek along the cliff tops with views of beaches and the sea. Not bad.
With all of this serious sporting activity you would think that I would be losing weight? Not so. For every sporting activity we take and eat chocolate "for energy", we then eat chocolate "as a reward" for doing so well, then we eat chocolate because "we obviously burnt off loads of calories on said sporting activity"*
* Chocolate can be alternated with biscuits and cake too.
To all of you still reading, thanks for bearing with me, I know I'm putting a lot of entries on at once. And again, thanks for all of your messages too...
