Christchurch is quite similar to an English city so we did feel quite at home here. We took a tram ride around to see all the sights which included a lot of little parks and English street names. Lovely.
Not sure if I have mentioned this (and as you know I'm certainly not one to go on about these things) but I have been ill recently. Me, divvy, said 'Oh I can't believe neither of us have been ill' since then I have had conjunctivitis, a terrible hangover and then a cough and cold :-(
Illness aside, it didn't stop me helping to celebrate Emma's 26th birthday with style. We went to an Indian and rounded off the meal nicely with some balloon art - those kits are fantastic fun, especially at our age! The evening was then spent sampling shots at local watering holes with a bunch of Americans that we accidently picked up.
Now the said Americans provided much entertainment. I think my favourite quote was "Do you guys celebrate Independence Day?" The Team America references were coming out thick and fast that evening, for any of you who have seen that film, you can imagine the fun we had!
Nevertheless, we partied til dawn ending up with a kind of 'how many people can you fit in a campervan competition.' All good fun.
It is here that we say a fond farewell to Emma and Bekkie who are returning to the UK on the 3rd. We have had a fab time with them and very annoyed that they are leaving. We will now have to share rooms and engage in dull small talk with strangers.
So we move onto Kaikoura hans solo. Already secured a two bed room with a TV so things not looking too bad...
