We arrived at Dunedin, a small city, still on the south island. Now, at home, I can imagine that you cannot go anywhere without something Christmassy being in your face. I am not kidding you, the decorations in Uttoxeter High Street are better than anywhere we have seen here. New Zealand just don't seem to 'do' Christmas properly.
Anyway, today it was Leah's turn to win a competition. Bug Bingo. Everyone had a square grid on the bus windscreen and the most dead bugs splattered in the squares at the end of the journey, won. With a grand total of 4, Leah scooped the cash prize and with it bought wine and chocolate for us all! What a genius idea though.
We went on another beer tour, Speights. I seemed to get picked on an awful lot, I must just have one of those faces. Still not a lover of beer but persevering
A tour of Cadbury's chocolate factory was the next stop which is definitely more up my street. Must confess, it does taste better in England but it didn't stop me from coming away with a mahoosive bag of chocolaty goodness.
We treated ourselves to a meal out here. It was at a Chinese restaurant which was just like Eerie Indiana. It was bizarre and half expected to be chopped up into little pieces. We told the owner and waiter that it was Emma's birthday (it is actually next wednesday but we can blame a mix up in translation) so he got out his guitar and strummed some chords (none of which resembled the happy birthday tune) and sang. Bless this guy, he'd trapped a nerve so couldn't play, or speak, but he came a did this solo for our entertainment (and it was pretty amusing).
Again, on the move quickly, to a quiet place in the countryside...
