Queenstown to Christchurch

Unfortunately, not a very interesting day today - just sat on the bus from Queenstown to Christchurch, arriving late afternoon. However we did get pulled over by the police en-route! Nothing major, but we did get a ticket as we were apparently 2 tonnes over the weight limit allowed! Apparently, over here (not sure what the law is in UK) but buses/coaches have to pay for a special certificate or license for a certain weight category. And basically, Kiwi Ex buys the lighter weight option cert, as is cheaper in the long run even if they get tickets from the police.

Although a little annoying, as sat there for about 20 minutes, it was quite amusing to watch our driver panicking alittle as he hadn't filled in his log book and was wearing jandles 'flip-flops'which are illegal to drive in!

Anyway, a quiet night tonight as am off to Kaikoura for 2 days tomorrow and hopefully do a little more swimming with dolphins - they have the smallest species of dolphins there, only about 3-4ft long! How cute.
