After a filling breakfast I decided to forgo the planned city tour of Bangkok (how many times can I really visit the Grand Palace, Wat po etc??) and see a bit more of the day to day life around the area of our hotel so off I wandered and came across Wat after Wat.....do they have one on every street corner of Bangkok??? Wandered along one of the major klongs and stopped for a refreshing drink before heading off for a thai massage.

Got back to the hotel in time to pack my bag and head for the airport - next stop Chiang Rai. Arrived mid afternoon- time to get orientated and then we all headed out for dinner. Lovely meal where I actually ate a curry (very mild!) and then 3 of us headed off to the night bazaar for a bit of haggling for some thai silk.

After our retail therapy we took a quiet stroll back to our hotel. Just before we got there we saw a thai massage place and given that my roommate had never had a thai massage I said well we had better stop and let her experience one before we head out of the country in the morning! I also had one to keep her company

Feeling quite decadent as I go to sleep tonight. 2 thai massagges in one day....absolute bliss.
