Wow another week has gone by....my students spent last week worrying about their exam results and what their parents would say...the never ending pressure on them is amazing. Most of them are in a state of disbelief after I told them about the long summer holiday that Tasmanian students get....they cannot imagine having so long off school AND not having homework set for the holidays!!! I have been without a computer since Saturday and felt like I was disconnecte...

Well I've scored another 5 day weekend courtesy of the students having exams.....only thing is they forgot to tell me until I turned up for my 0730 class yesterday!!! Oh well back to my apartment wishing I had known before I got up, showered and ready to go. Anyway the bonus days have been good despite the rain..... yes we are getting rain in winter and its even a bit cold. I'm not sure of the temperatures but I think we may have got down to single figures over...

Our school celebrated its 10th Anniversary at the end of last week....and oh what a celebrations it was....heavens knows what they will do for future anniversaries!! We started the celebrations with a stunning performance on Thursday night. The music, the costumes, the talent displayed by our students was a feast for the eyes and ears of everyone present. This week has been one of madness and mayhem as the school prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Workmen and women (no discrimination here) have been frantically trying to finish some of the building works before Friday so have been working day and night.....and I do mean night..I could still hear the cement truck pouring concrete at 2.30am!!! Our weather had decided to turn cold, about 11C (well it is winter) so I think everyone is hoping the concrete will...

The students have been on to me since 1 December about Christmas - so many questions - how will I celebrate, what about a tree and decorations, what about my family, will I go home (!!) etc etc. It's hard to beleive but they really have no concept of distance and find it impossible to imagine that I can't go home for Christmas given I get 1 day off!!! Well I have succumbed to pressure and put up a Christmas tree - dont get too excited as it's a fairly motley loo...
