Cruising along Kotor Bay can only be described as stupendous. Being on a small ship we were able to sail the entire length of the bay, into all the little inlets and close to the shore. I do not think I have the words to do justice to the amazing scenery so I will let the photos speak for themselves.
Enjoy……..
The facts
Kotor Bay is the only natural fjord of its kind in the world and in a bay that has made the list of Most Beautiful Bays in the World.
Kotor Bay is about 28km long with a shoreline extending 107.3km. The narrowest section of the bay, the 2300m long Verige Strait, is only 340m wide at its narrowest point.
The bay is composed of several smaller broad bays united by narrower channels. The bay inlet was formerly a river system. Tectonic and karstification processes led to the disintegration of this river..
