Kate & Rob's Adventure
What a Journey!!
We tried to sleep on the train but this was harder than i thought - the Game Boy and IPOD were helpful for me. There wasnt any room for my bag on the floor so i opted to sleep with it - as i am sure you can picture this didnt leave much room for moving and when the train turned, i and the bag almost fell off my shelf of a bed. Once the train journey was done we were ushered onto a bus and then an hour later onto a ferry. 4 Hours later we got off the ferry at Ko Samui - or so we thought, turns out they gave us the wrong sticker so we had to get back on the boat to double back on ourselves to Ko Samui - where we had stopped 45 minutes earlier. Obviously the language barriers dont help and the only reason we knew we were wrong was Kate's map didnt match with the taxi drivers!
Eventually, after a long day we reached our hotel. The weather was hot and hazy and we opted to stay in our rooms and try get a little sleep. By the time we got settled and ready it was getting dark so we went to the hotel restaurant for something to eat. Until this point we were not aware of just how close we were to the sea, we were literally sat on the beach - and again for less than 15 pounds a night.
The next day the haze had lifted and left a beautiful day and amazing views - i have pictures and will down load them when we get time. WE have booked an extra night here and are loving the pool/beach and sun.
Today we are going on a day trip, elephant riding, swimming in a waterfall and taking a few tours as well a mini safari. I am sure my camera will be in use a great deal and i look forward to sharing them with you....
Until then i will say goodbye, thinking of you all and missing you
Love
Rob and Kate
