Kate & Rob's Adventure
Elephants monkies and waterfalls, oh my!
Today was one of the best tours we have done by far! We started out the day, walked up a platform, and boarded an elephant. Our guide sat on its head, and we sat in a little box on its back as it trekked us through the jungle. Not the fasted means of travel, but cool to see her try to eat everything in our path.
Then the elephants put on a little show for us, a bit of yoga, soccer and basketball. And I got a masssage! I laid down on my stomach and got a blanket over me, while "Linda" took a foot and genlty prodded along my back. A new experience for sure! Out came a cute monkey named Mikey and he showed us how they climb trees to pick coconuts for the farmers.
We then got in an old 4WD Landrover from WWII that took us to a new back called Thalle where we did a bit of canoeing. We were supposed to go out into the sea but it was low tide and couldn't go very far, but still fun.
Back in the Landrover and this time the 4WD was really necessary as we went up in the jungle to climb a waterfall. The driver took us about 300 meters from the top and we climbed the rest of the way - straight up. We did ok, but the more "mature" couple behind us were a bit slower. The water was cool and refreshing, but a bit cold for a swim.
Becuase of the great weather, we have decided to stay an extra day in Ko Samui and will be going directly to Singapore. The extra day will now be spent poolside, doing very little as all forcasts still point to HOT.
Missing you all and thinking of you lots
Love
Kate and Rob
