Kate & Rob's Adventure
Adelaide has been a bit of a quiet break for us. Since leaving the outback, its nice to be in a big city. The capital of South Australia, Adelaide is one of the oldest settlements in Australia and very Victorian, and well preserved. Mt Lofty, just outside the city limits, provided us with amazing views of the city skyline and surrounding waters. We passed through Port Augusta on our way, just a sleepy shipping town, and our first touch of rain in weeks! It has cooled off so much since coming south, even a bit cold in the evening so no more air con, extra blankets, but haven't resorted to the heater (yet!).
The drive down was very scenic, mountains and valleys, bays and vineyards. We are hoping to do some wine tasting on our way to the coast - Barossa Valley is home to some big names, inlcuding Jacob's Creek. Since talking with some locals, we have decided to cut a day from the city and add it to the Great Ocean Road. We have been told of some beautiful coastlines and easy driving, so hope to relax and enjoy our last few days with "Sheila" (Rob's pet Aussie name for the campervan). She has served us well and we hate to bid her farewell.
Hope that everything is going well at home (wherever that may be!). Missing you and thinking of you loads.
Take Care and Speak Soon
