Left the hotel at 9am and headed down to the beach with the group where we all boarded a speedboat and headed off on our day tour of the local islands. We visited about 5 islands and they were all simply beautiful - Krabi beach pales into insignificance compared to what we saw today! The sea was a clear turquoise, even about 100m out from the shore you could see the bottom, and it was warm. The sand was white and the vegetation was so green. We went snorkelling off of one of the island and saw coral reef, blue and yellow fish and a sea snake!! Just looking at the surface you would never image what life goes on under the water, its so busy. Went to Maya Bay which is the cove where 'The Beach' was set and its more beautiful than it looks on screen - you just can't believe your eyes at how picturesque it all is - Ive never seen scenery like it. We then jetted off to Koh Phi Phi for lunch whcih was lovely. We were just down the coast from where the tsunami hit, where we were was really lively but apparantly where it hit there is just nothing and is a stark contrast. Got back to the hotel at about 4pm and got ready for tea and a night in a local thai nightclub! Will let you know how the experience goes.... Enjoy the photos!!
