So having perfected our thai cooking skills, we departed Chang Mai on another sleeper train and headed for bangkok. The 15 hr train ride went pretty quickly, and we managed to fight off any hunger pains on route with our pre bought thai speciality, 3 foot long subways! ha fatties!!!!
We arrived early in Bangkok, and headed straight to the Indian embassy to apply for our Indian Visas. The embassy have a pain stakingly tedious application process so about 4 hours later we had deposited our passports and a hundred quid, and hoped for the best.
Our time in Bangkok was really just one of waiting for the Indian Visas to be approved. We did as all the tourists do and ate salads in Waitrose and frequented the cinema every other day. We had done all to the touristy things last time we were in Bangkok so we kept ourselves amused by doing some pretty normal stuff. Our Visas were ready six days later, so we picked them up and jumped on the train in the direction of Krabi.
After another 12 hr train ride and about 5 hours on the bus we arrived in rain soaked Krabi. The place looked like it would have been nice if the sun would have come out but after three days of rain we decided it wasn't worth sticking around any longer. It was a typical beach place and with no sun it really wasn't up to much.
So from here we headed over to Koh Samui. What a difference. The sun was out, the beach was lovely and the town had a bit of character. We stayed in a small hotel, on the northern tip of the island, and spent our days here lying by the pool and on the beach catching up on a bit of vitamin D. Bo Phut, was a lovely little beach side town, and far removed from most peoples pre conceived ideas of Samui. It was lovely and quaint, and perfect for a few days of lounging.
We moved from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan, and back to the resort we had stayed at in June. The place is lovely, we're back in our beach side bungalow and really relaxing. Both loving the fact we haven't gotta get on a bus/train or plane for a few weeks and we can really just chill and unwind. As i've already said to a number of people the last nine months have been an experience, and this month is holiday time!!haha Not alot else to report really, been here for 10 days so far, off to the full moon party next week and gonna check out some thai boxing this weekend.
Hope all is well back home, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone soon!! It's gone so fast!!
Lots of Love
