Today we went on the Kho Phi Phi island tour. To start with we travelled by speed boat. Our group decided to sit at the front of the boat, which is v bumpy and not so gd for those who get sea sick!!!Luckily we had taken sea sickness tablets!!
We had relatively short periods on the boat and after 30 minutes we arrived at Bamboo Island, which is a NP and uninhabited with white sand and clear water. We went snorkelling over the coral reefs and saw a wide variety of fish, including a barracuda, which I near mistook for a shark!!
The next stop on the boat was to look at the Viking Caves, where bird nests are collectd for soup, which is very expensive and apparently like jelly!! On the boat we also looked around Pi Leh Lagoon, where some scenes from "The Beach" were filmed. Our next stop was at Maya Bay- where the majority of "The Beach" was filmed. We just chilled out there before bording the boat again.
We then went back to Lohsamon Bay to do some open sea snorkelling over the coral.
Our next stop was then at Tonsai Bay, for lunch and a wander down the streets on the island. It was weird to think this island had been badly hit by the Tsunami. There were Tsunami villages-but we didnt have time to visit them.
After lunch we went to Monkey Beach-but were unable to get there as the sea was too shallow and apparently there are a lot of sea urchins!!so we opted for more open sea snorkelling.
Next stop was Hin Klarng, where we did mre open sea snorkelling and saw clownfish just like nemo!!If you swam down deep towards the clownfish it woud swim up to ypu!!it was v cool!! As we swam past another boat they threw out bread so there were swarms of fish coming towards us!! But it was really cool snorkellig.
Then we headed back to Ao Nang to chill out and get clean for dinner!!Then we went out to an Indian restaurant for dinner, which was not that great. we then decided to have a few drinks, and found the hub of bars, where we tried our hand at pool (we were not v gd). Then we continued our drinks around the town, bartering for the right price!!
