First day on the road! The car we have is a little manual, and seeing as I don't drive a manual at home Aleesha started the day off driving. We swapped later in the day when we were off the tricky little city streets so I could get the hang of a manual again before I had to do any difficult driving. We stopped on the way at a little viewpoint to take some snaps- my photo for this blog entry. Our poor little car is a bit gutless so it struggled getting up the hill, even in first gear! We eventually made it to Belfast to our hotel- the Days Hotel Belfast. We chilled out that afternoon before meeting up with Ben & Jake from home for dinner and drinks.
Wednesday we got up, checked out and then did an open top bus tour around the city. The amount of history Belfast has is overwhelming. We learnt about the troubles in northern Ireland and got a better understanding of just how much that area has been through in recent decades and how far they've come, and still need to go. It was so interesting, and there's still so much we don't know about it all. We headed off shortly after that.
Next stop, Londonderry/Derry!
