Kari goes to Lincoln, England
Today was the last day my parents were here. I woke up at 8.20 and my mom said we were going to go and get breakfast at Benjy's before leaving and wanted to know if I could get ready by 9am. Of course I could I am getting really good at this getting ready in a hurry stuff. We walked to Benjy's and had a standard English breakfast, which was 2 pieces of toast, 2 sausages, 1 bacon and a tomato. It was ok, well what can I say it's English breakfast and I am not a huge fan. But it was nice. Then we walked back to the hotel and packed up our things. While we had been gone the maid had been in our room and already taken the towels so I couldn't even wash my hands anymore!!!! We were checked out by 10.15 and headed to earl's court the tube station closest to our hotel and it was here where we would part and go our separate ways. We were all taking the Piccadilly Line, only I was going eastbound to King's Cross Station and they were going to Heathrow airport terminal 2 and that was the westbound platform. Their train got there first and I said goodbye to them and it was sad. We had a good week together and them leaving symbolized that my time here is fast coming to an end. This last month that I have left is going to fly by. It also made me realize that I hate goodbyes, and the next goodbyes I am going to have will be with Lincoln people and that makes me sad. I do not know when or if I will ever see these people again. It means Easter break is over and I get back to Lincoln around 1.30pm this afternoon and I have a radio group meeting at 3....fun fun stuff. Here comes crunch time and it isn't going to be fun but I will be glad when next week is over, I just have to get through one week, I cannot believe that I only have one week left of projects and then my semester at Lincoln is over. (11.37am)
The rest of the train ride was pretty non-eventful. I tried to work on journals and such. When I got back to Lincoln I stopped at a little grocery store on high street which was on my way home and got the bare essentials of food for now because I really didn't have time to walk to Morrison's. I got home at 2 and worked on going through emails and writing people back. I lost track of time and before I knew it, it was 3PM and time to go to the Shed to meet with my radio group. I had to hurry. It was a pretty good meeting, but we didn't get too much accomplished. It was just nice to see them because it felt like I hadn't seen them in two weeks. Lincoln feels like home. We went to the studio for a bit to listen to a song that Harry had recorded the other day. Its good and we all decided that we liked it. We didn't make too much progress on the second song and decided to meet up again tomorrow at 1.
I came back to my flat and continued my email stuff and had a sandwich and yogurt for dinner. I went to the computer lab at 8 to work on my stuff and was there until 11PM. When I came back here, I finally put my groceries away and cleaned my room because it was still a mess from when my parents were here. I began uploading pictures and am well aware that I am really behind on journals and will try my best to catch up but I do have three things due next Friday that I would like to devote the majority of my time too. However I do have to take breaks and will see how it goes. I am off to bed now and am really excited to sleep in my own bed. On Sunday the 9th of April I went to Scotland and slept in hostels for 4 nights, the next night I slept on the train, the following night my parents were here and I slept in my flat but on the floor for two nights and then I was just in London for 4 nights at a hotel where I also slept on the floor. I am not complaining, because I am one of those people that can sleep almost anywhere and it doesn't affect my sleep and such. I am just excited for my bed and think that it will be nice!!!! Sorry about being slow everyone!!! Hope you had a fantastic Easter!!!!!
