I had to get up at 6am in order to get to the airport early enough before my flight. I woke up and got ready and Danielle walked me to the metro station. On the way when we passed the bakery I couldn't resist and stopped one last time. She dropped me off at the metro station and we said our goodbyes. She would be in Lincoln on Thursday so it wouldn't be long before I saw her again. At the metro station there were these other Americans who were really confused about tickets and stuff and didn't understand the guy standing there and he didn't speak any English. I told them I bought my ticket at the machine and then I waited for them to walk down to the metro because they were also going to Termini. I found out that they were visiting their friend who was studying in Rome and were going to Florence and some other places for a few days and were going to come back to Rome for two days before flying out. These three girls were from Pennsylvania. It was nice having someone to ride the metro with because it can be scary. Danielle had thought it would be really full and sardine-like but luckily it wasn't and I was happy about that. I got off at termini and had to walk up a bunch of stairs until I got up to the top where the bus station was. I had extra time, which was ok. It was raining outside and I didn't want to wait in the rain so I stayed inside for a bit longer. I went outside and got on the bus around 7.30 and it was really full. There were people everywhere. Lots of people were flying out this morning I guess. It was about a 40-minutes ride back to Ciampino airport and I enjoyed just looking out the window because it had been dark when I got there on Wednesday night. I got to the airport and the line for my flight was really long and I had to wait for about 40 minutes to get through it. There was this guy behind me who stood literally right behind me and I was starting to get a little bothered. I went through security and got to my gate and was glad that I had bought my donut things at the bakery because I was hungry now and the food at the airport was really expensive. The two things that I had gotten were quite tasty. We lined up for our flight at 9.20 but didn't move until about 9.50 and our flight was supposed to leave at 10. We took a shuttle from outside the door over to where the plane was. It was different. Our plane had originally been ahead of schedule, but due to communications and other planes, it ended up landing late and that is why we boarded late. And then we couldn't leave right away either and ended up sitting on the ground for a while. I think it was 11 when we finally took off. I had an amazing view of Rome right after we took off. I saw the coliseum and St. Petersburg. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Too bad I am slow and couldn't get my camera out in time to get a picture. I tried to stay awake so I could see the sights because when I had flown to Rome it was dark and I couldn't see a thing. But I was so tired I fell asleep. I did wake up at one point when there were mountains below us and I managed to get a picture of that. It was pretty sweet. And then I fell back asleep and woke up a little bit before we landed in Stansted. I found my train and got on it. It was a nice ride back. I really like taking the train places. I managed to get a little bit of work done on my journals but did sleep a little too. I got back to Lincoln around 4.45 and came back and showered, downloaded pictures and was just working on few things on my computer when it occurred to me that I needed to go to the lab and work on stuff for class the next day. We had started a model of Bambi about two weeks ago and I needed to finish my bambi but it had serious issues. So I texted my friend Nick who is in my class and asked him if he would come and help me. I met him at the lab and we worked on Bambi for a while. He also showed me hoe to do some stuff in After Effects and that was really helpful. We were there for about two hours and when we left he had to go to a birthday party at the glasshouse so I joined him and the group for a drink.
