Hi All!
I didn't think I was going to blog about this trip, but I had a couple of requests to hear updates about what's happening here in the Aloha State (and it's easier to remember exactly when you were where!!), so here we go!
Today started as any other trip from Fargo, until I realized.......I left my phone at home. Oops! Thanks to some awesome friends, it's on it's way here and should be here tomorrow......whew! My flight today was on Delta by way of Salt Lake City and then to Honolulu. It's nice to have only one plane change, but man, 6 1/2 hours is a long time on a plane! However, the Delta plane we were on today had the individual monitors with 10 movies to choose from.....sweet! After a delay in Salt Lake City, we were on our way. I think half of that plane was travel agents headed here for this trip! There are 150 agents from throughout the US that have descended upon Honolulu for three days of meetings and classes to learn more about selling Hawaii. Then, we're off to our respective second destination choice. This is such a great opportunity, I'm so glad I was chosen to go!
Anyway, with the flight delay, most of us got to our hotel with just enough time for a quick shower and change, but some weren't so lucky! Thankfully, I was one that had time for a shower, I really needed to wake up! Tonight we had our welcome reception at the Moana Surfrider, which is right next door to my hotel. We had hors devourers and great music and some awesome drinks (Blue Hawaiians......yummy!). I was even a little bit adventurous and stepped outside my comfort zone tonight.....caviar, lobster and crab cakes were a few of the things I tried.....loved the crab cakes, not so hot on the cold lobster and the caviar....no thanks! I was able to catch up with the other Bursch agents that were here from southern Minnesota, so that was nice too :)
Once the reception was over, I headed back to the hotel to meet up with my cousin Lisa from LA......she just happens to be over here for work this week too! We both decided we have the most awful jobs in the world and maybe we should look for other work come Monday.....NOT! We headed to Margaritaville for drinks and then walked on Waikiki Beach and watched the waves for awhile. So relaxing! Now I'm headed off to bed as we have to be up and downstairs at 7 am to shuttle over to the Hilton Hawaiian Village for breakfast. No rest for the wicked this week :)
Aloha :)
