Old Melbourne Gaol. This is where Ned Kelly lived his final days before he was hanged on the 11th November 1880. In total 136 Hangings took place in the Gaol before its closure in 1924. We got the train from Altona to Melbourne City. First visit was to the Tourist information to find out where places where and what was good to see. We jumped onto a free tram service and headed to the Old Melbourne Gaol to begin with. From there we walked around looking at different sites, hopping on and off the tram. We arrived at Peter & Annes late Sunday afternoon. Parked up the Campervan outside and gladly took our bags inside for 2 nights of comfort sleeping. Before dinner we took a walk down to Altona Pier. Then after a wonderful homecooked roast we settled in for the night. Monday we headed out to Melbourne City for the day.
