We got the train from Altona to Melbourne City. First visit was to the Tourist information to find out where places where and what was good to see. We jumped onto a free tram service and headed to the Old Melbourne Gaol to begin with. From there we walked around looking at different sites, hopping on and off the tram. We went to Fitzroy Gardens, where Captain Cooks House is. It was shipped from the UK and rebuit there. We also took a walk by the Yarra River. It was good to see the city, it was a mixture of high rise buildings and old victorian buildings.

It was a long but good day, was glad to get back to Peter and Annes for yet another wonderful homecooked meal and an early night as we were to start our journey home so needed an early start.
