OBSERVATION OF THE DAY Germans are extremely annoying!
I had a lovely night at Rawnsley Station. It was very peaceful. I didn't drive far today, only about 40 kilometres to Wilpena to have a look at Wilpena Pound. It is a natural amphitheatre of mountains. I checked in at the Wilpena Resort camp site first and left the camper there and then went for a walk. It was about a 6 kilometre round trip. The first 4 k's are pretty flat and I saw loads of wildlife on the way. There were kangaroos, loads of emus and some mountain goats. There was one emu with two really cute chicks. The walk goes past the Hill Homestead. This is the old home of the Hill family who used to keep livestock and farm inside the pound. The last 2 k's were uphill to the viewing areas. It was a pretty fantastic sight. It was a peaceful walk up and the viewing area would have been even better if there hadn't been a load of Germans there making an absolute racket! On the way back I met a guy from Chelmsford who was travelling on his own. He was only in Australia for three weeks though and was quite jealous of me being here for so long. We got talking about work and stuff and it turns out that he knows someone who's a self employed owner driver for Parcel Force. I bet he's stressed at the moment with the mad Christmas chaos! I thought about doing another walk when I got back nearer to the camp site but it just remained a thought. It was too hot so I decided to take it easy instead! It was a lovely peaceful camp site to chill out on amongst the trees watching the wildlife. That was until a load of annoying noisy Germans arrived nearby later on. Gute nacht.
