Happiness Is The Road
It was dry when we got up this morning and the sky was blue. We weren't stuck in any mud so after brekky we managed to get enough traction to leave the camp site. We just drove a very short distance to the foreshore at Moonee Beach and parked up. We had a walk to the beach and the obligatory paddle before hitting the highway. We decided to go to the Woody Head camp site in the Bundjalung National Park about 120 kilometres up the coast. The route took us past loads of sugar plantations. The sugar canes look like harmless enough plants but the finished refined product is poison, so avoid it! It is addictive and extremely bad for your health. We no longer buy any foods containing sugar and feel much better for it. Please however do not replace sugar with artificial sweeteners as these are also very dangerous toxic and poisonous substances. When we got to the Woody Head camp site we didn't like it. It was in a good location on the coast but it was jam packed with annoying looking people. If it hadn't been the school holidays this place would more than likely have been great but at the moment it was hell. We drove back up to the highway to a caravan park mentioned in the Camps Guide at Woombah Woods. It looked quirky and quiet. It was indeed quiet and we chilled here for the rest of the day. The only noise we heard was the clucking of a couple of chooks who came by to say hi and a couple of very cheeky birds who actually came right into the camper van to eat bread crumbs off the floor! The amenities were nice and quiet and free of disgusting people. There was a sign which said 'Please be responsible, limit your use of talcum powder as it can make the floor slippery'. This sign should be in all amenities blocks as it is incredible how many stupid and inconsiderate people slop this awful stuff around and fail to mop it up. What's the point of talc? I really don 't understand it. It's vile. Usually it's the Germans who use it and they don't care about anybody but themselves. Whilst on the subject of amenities blocks it has been noticed from conversations Jay and I have had that women are much more disgusting creatures than men. I have always thought that men's toilets/showers would be much worse than the womens. This is simply not the case. The gents are usually fairly clean and apart from the odd bottom sound and the occasional talc spraying incident very uneventful. The womens is awful. Jay usually comes back with tales of woe. Women loudly **** and splatter the toilets. They cough and hack in the showers. They slop their water under and over into other cubicles. They hog the basins to dry their hair and trowel on their make up. These women are camping for christ's sake, and in any case make up is a waste of money and part of being a sheep and being controlled. Women police themselves and look down on anyone who doesn't slap on the nasty chemicals called make up. Most men aren't bothered about the make up anyhow. I much prefer the natural look. It is massively more beautiful than a full of slap! We showered, talc free, and then went to bed.
