Another Life
Feeling slightly hung over this morning. Just in the stomach. Had about four hours sleep. Received a 600B bill for all the booze I had on tab last night. Can you believe that - I was in the f*cking jungle!!
At 09:30 we all jumped on the raft I helped to build with the locals (A fine vessel, if I don't say so myself!) and set off down stream. The sail was great - you could see the forest tuen to jungle the further south we became. Nearly everyone was in the water at one point, loving it. The raft took a good smashing on the rapids, but it was my workmanship that kept it afloat (you laugh, yet it is true). Everybody had a good time and the scenery we passed was unreal. I even saw a snake - happy days - until Ping knocked it into the water to its almost certain death.
We pulled in at a small bar before driving back to Chiang Mai. That was the best twenty quid I have EVER spent, no questions asked (even though I was pissed or hungover most of the time).
Bit of mad evening: I was pissed out of my head on the 'ped again, popping around with two people on the back at a time. Jorge, Barney and I even ended up in another town, low on petrol. Funny as f***, although Barney didn't find it that way and when Jorge lost his buff, that took the last straw and, well, had a Barney and went back to the hostel.
So, me and Jorge went to a Thai club for a few drinks (well she didn't drink hers after collapsing twice on entry) watching the Thai table dancers bend seductively in front of the gawping Thai men to quality hard, bassy house music. Definately something to see - even Jorge's tongue was out.
I booked my boat to Luang Prabang, Laos, earlier today and leave tomorrow at midday to go to Chiang Khong, the border town. In bed for 2 a.m.
