Last night we pitched the tent on the seaside just east of a hamlet called Penguin. It's easy to find a campsite is Tas, all you do is look for more than two RVs parked in a spot and put your tent alongside. People have been very kind and friendly toward us and often help us out with battery charging, refrigeration and the odd cooking ingredient, not to mention a coffee and cake occasionally. Survived the road from Derwent Bridge to strachan in the rain. The vegetation has grown back a lot since my last run down the Queenstown road feels like a different place. Strachan is worse now though - tourist trap. We took the local advice and camped out at MacQuarrie Heads. Lovely sheltered spot complete with resident possum. The pic shows the bike at Hells Gates with the tourist boat in the background - probably the same one that was new last time I was here....

We made it! To see the yachts come in that is, we stood on Battery Point about 150 meters from the Sydney to Hobart race finish and watched the line honors winner cross the line sailing right at us. Good morning from Sunny Swansea Tas. We have now been in Tassie for four days. We enjoyed a smooth day trip across Bass Straight and after a very quick reconnaissance of Devonport, rode to Port Sorrell where we camped the night.
