G'day from Cloudy Singapore.
Last time I turned up here (I've never seen the country outside the airport - must do that sometime) I was really glad to have left Australia. This time I'm still happy to be underway at last but don't feel the same sense of relief to be out of Oz. I think I'm a lot happier with life there than I was in 2005.
This morning I had to face up to what I expect will be the second most difficult day of my trip, saying goodbye to my Lovely Wife at Perth Airport. We were both very brave, but being apart is certainly the biggest downside of the journey. I might keep you in suspense about what I expect will be the most difficult day of the holiday, as it's not for a while.
I was busily dismantling part of the furniture in the Dome Cafe in the airport, in order to jack up the camera for a photo with Sandi before I left, when a waitress rescued the furniture and took the photo for us. It was taken especially for this blog and has highlighted my first ommission in packing this morning (yes, I know I should've packed earlier, but I never do) I put the card reader for the camera in my checked in luggage - so all you get is a generic Singapore shot of a view I've never seen - maybe next time.
Apart from that not much has happened yet - Qantas did its job I had a good flight in a plane about half full and enjoyed the view approaching Singapore from the south. The special w***ers' club computers are pretty slow, but still work, and the book Sandi lent me is interesting. I hope you're all having fun at work!
