We got to Noosa at midday, so had the rest of the day to explore the town. It's a pretty small place and really expensive but nice. We sat on the beach for a bit, watching the surfers but got up and left when it started raining. The majority of the day was spent walking to and around Coles, doing a food shop for the next 3 days. Back at the hostel we took part in a foosball tournament, all of us lost, although me and Grace both got to the second round!
Then it was Zoo Day! I had been looking forward to this for ages, it was actually one of the only things I knew was in Australia before I came. We left early in the morning and had a full day there. As far as zoos go, it didn't have too much of a range of animals. There were loads of crocodiles but they're not too great to look at, they just sit still and blend in with their surroundings... The croc show was pretty cool and all of Steve Irwin's family were there, with the wife and daughter feeding a big crocodile. We meandered around the zoo and saw all the animals, the most exciting parts for me were the kangaroos and koalas. There was a bit where you could pat a koala but the koala you were allowed to pat was asleep and you could only touch its bum. Seeing all the koalas was pretty cool though- we've all decided we want to steal one and domesticate it. There was a kangaroo park too where all the kangaroos were just roaming about. While the others were feeding elephants (I'm a bit elephant-ed out after Thailand) I spent 20 minutes wandering around feeding the kangaroos and attempting to take pictures with them. There were some which had little joeys in their pockets, a few were really cute and had their heads sticking out but then some of them just had legs sticking out of the pockets which looked incredibly weird.
On our last day in Noosa we headed over to the National Park. We had been told that there were koala bears living there but didn't see any as we walked around. We did a 7km walk around the coast and through the rainforest which we thought would take most of the day but found that we still had a couple of hours to kill before getting the bus. We chilled out on the beach for a bit and then boarded the Greyhound down to Brisbane.
