This is my last post from Tra Vinh. I will be home on Tuesday morning, so I am looking forward to seeing friends and family. It will be sad to leave all my friends and students here, but I am looking forward to being home for a while.
Motorbike accidents, they're part of living in Vietnam. I have not been in any, and have only seen a few, but about 30 minutes ago I saw the worst one I have seen since being here. I have seen the remnants of bad accidents, including a fatal one where the body was covered on the ground, but this one was right in front of me. I was riding my bike home, not paying too much attention, when I looked up and two bikes collided at a really high speed. The bikes both crumbled and the people looked to be hurt badly. Two were able to get up but were bleeding pretty bad and one just laid there. I kept biking because there were lots of Vietnamese around anyway. It's a good reminder to drive slowly and safely and wear a good helmet.
On to the positive. All my classes are over and the grades are in. It's just time to pack now. The last few weeks have been busy, but fun and not too stressful. My sister came about 2 weeks ago, and I met her in Saigon. Jenna wanted to go to a beach (I wanted the mountains), so of course we ended up on Phu Quoc Island which is known for its beautiful beaches. The beach was nice, but a little dirty. One day we rented a motorbike and drove all around the back roads of the island which was really fun. After Phu Quoc, we were in Tra Vinh to visit my Vietnamese home. One day we were invited to my student's home in Cau Ngang district. About 20 students in all came and we made a great lunch together (the girls cooked of course). I have been getting closer to my students lately, and it will be sad to leave them. They are great students and are so welcoming.
To finish our time in Tra Vinh, we took Jenna to the orphanage, to karaoke and to many good places to eat. After Tra Vinh, we were back in Saigon for a few days and then I said goodbye to Jenna as she flew to Central Vietnam to volunteer in Tam Ky. I saw Jenna at the beginning of this year in Thailand, and I just met her at the end of my trip, so it was a nice way to start and end things. So now I am just saying my goodbyes and packing my things. All is well here, see everyone soon.

Jo Wei Time passed unbelievably fast, right? my 2-year contract in Honduras is almost to its end by far. Facing the last term with students, unexpectedly there is a voice inquiring myself to do more, and then pass it on smoothly. Not feeling much miss for home, I guess leaving home for so long one just creates home elsewhere. Good to read your writing. Remember the time in Chicago, anytime you're back in Asia or anywhere near Taiwan, let me know. take much care.
