Hi. Tomorrow I start my third journey to Asia. This time I will spend about 1 year volunteering at Tra Vinh University in Tra Vinh, Vietnam. After my last trip, I knew I wanted to return to Asia to live. Last winter, I found Volunteers in Asia (VIA), a non-profit located in San Francisco (http://www.viaprograms.org/). "VIA is dedicated to increasing understanding between the United States and Asia through public service and programs promoting cross-cultural education." I applied to the Vietnam program, and after two interviews I was accepted.

I am really excited to get out there, and help out in any way I can. My main job will be teaching whatever the University needs me to teach. Anyway, I leave tomorrow for the long flight to Bangkok. I will meet my sister there, and we are planning to travel to Angkor Wat in Cambodia and then to some Thai Islands. Jenna leaves on July 12, and then I will head to Chiang Mai, Thailand for two weeks of training. After Chiang Mai, I have two weeks of language classes in Hanoi, Vietnam and then two weeks to get to Tra Vinh. I should be teaching in Tra Vinh by early September. Take care and stay in touch!
